Shamik Sen Gupta is a director, screenwriter and producer who has made award winning shorts, documentaries, ads and branded content films. Shamik's short film ‘Playgrounds’ won Gold in IFVA Hong Kong '16 and Grand Jury prize for Best Short in IFFLA '16 and was invited to the Palm Springs Shortfest '16 and several other international festivals for screening.
His branded content films for Myntra garnered a lot of media attention for challenging norms and stereotypes. ‘The Calling’ a branded short directed by Shamik featuring Radhika Apte won a Gold Abby for Gender Sensitivity.
While juggling a busy career in directing and producing ad-films, Shamik has written several shows and feature films. One of his shows has been greet-lit by a major streaming platform and is currently in production.
Shamik is currently directing and producing his first independent feature film.
